Dr. Shakir is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and also is a Diplomate and Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. His U.S. training has been at Columbia Presbyterian and NY State Psychiatric Institute for two years and subsequently Stanford University Medical Center where he was Chief Resident, Chief of Outpatient Psychiatric Services, and serves as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor, Emeritus of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine
